I feel excited that I am part of an ever-changing face of education. I hope that my colleagues will feel as excited and not find it a burden to their overflowing portfolio. It has been a joy learning new technologies and I hope my students will benefit as much as I have.

Does help me to be more creative in creating more interesting materials for L&T.
Very helpful especially for KSSR teachers, we are still lacks of resources.

I think that some of the podcasting sites recommended during the course were quite useful for future listening and speaking activities in class. I also appreciate the thoughtfulness of the presenters who took the time to organize their presentation and materials so that input was precise and the course was not too time-consuming.

I just sincerely hope that all this would not be a waste and pray that the facilities + manpower in school could be in their top condition.

Michelle

The resource sites that are available - especially the ones that are easy to download and with many ready materials - these were very useful.
The aspect that I am concerned about is the podcast production as we may not have good technical facilities as ELTC. It would have been good if we were allowed to prepare and produce the podcast in ELTC.

Many thanks for exposing us to new technologies to be used in the ELT classroom.

This is a good course for the teacher to arouse students interest in learning english.

It is much better if the teacher could produce their own short podcasting and present it at the end of the course.

one thing that i found useful is during learning technologies by heather. by giving the web address we can diffrentiate the better podcasting with the worse. in a way of, exposing us with the podcast. its really opened up our eyes. its going to be fun and exciting enviroment to the students.but the teacher need to give more effort first..

Learning on how to use and create a podcast is quiet challenging but rather interesting. Hopefully I will manage to use the podcast in my teaching.

I think we should complete the task during the course since all the equipments are already there.

The face to face/hands on session is interesting and it gives me a clear view on how to make use of the podcasting technology in my lessons.
One aspect that I think should be improved is BTP should provide teachers with samples of podcasting materials that are relevant to the needs of Malaysian students.

One useful aspect is using the Audacity software to record and edit sound clips. Not only can this be used for teaching English, but also for creating sound files for my mobile phone for caller ringtones and alerts. I'll also be using it for my music and creating playlists! Its going to fun to explore!

The internet access can be improved on, as to download files take some time. However, i understand that this is not the fault of the organizers. Some files require a long time to download too because of their size.
Thanks for the course.

I really enjoy myself today and also enjoyed the modules yesterday..I find this course is very interesting and effective for me and for all English teachers in the country.I've learnt many new things...and got many educational websites to share with my pupils.
Thank you to Ms Jayanthi, Dr Dorothy as well as Ms Heather for sharing and imparting the knowledge to us.

Hope that everyone is back safely in school and completing the module. Heather says that she has got British Council to extend the use of the Learning Technologies website for a month from now. However, we would have to log in again, and change our passwords, like we did yesterday! Please stay online and I will notify all when you can do it when I get the info from Heather. Then you can take the opportunity to use the website (it seems its slightly different from the one we accessed) at your leisure! And for in-house training!

We realise there are lots of challenges in implementing new things in the classroom. Especially with the use of technology and its limitations. However, I am sure that just by your efforts your kids would have already benefited from it!And with teachers like YOU, I'm confident it will be a success. Looking forward to hearing from you on your blogs!!

Happy holidays and blessed Thaipusam!

Just wondering, Jayanthi if it would be possible to put in a chatbox on the main page of this blog? It would be more convenient for everyone to chat and discuss any problem should they creep up.

Hi Sibyl,
I searched for the chat widget to add to the blog but none available. Most probably chat is not a feature on the blog unless we pay for the service.
Thanks for the suggestion. If there are any issues you would like to discuss, I could start a new page titled "Issues & challenges" and anyone can post their questions or suggestions. Would that work? Let me know.

Yes I guess that would help rather than having to click on each name to find out what problems or suggestions other people have. A simple Cbox will suffice really.

The F2F sessions were very useful and I learned new resource sites to download materials. It was interesting to learn new technologies which could be incorperated in our lessons in the classroom.
